This 1974 Tissot is engraved “Robert D. Wood 1974” on the case back. USC may recognize this name from Robert D. Wood Plaza on campus, the man himself being a former CBS network president who helped get the hugely important and incisive “All In The Family” on the air. While there are other USC Rose Bowl Tissots on the market, this is the only example of this dial and this model we have been able to find. By our assumption, it was a customized gift from the school to Wood as a high donor.
On a sad note, USC lost the Rose Bowl to the OSU Buckeyes in 1974 42 to 21.
